The abandonment rate refers to the percentage of users who were abandoned while navigating through the website they started but were not able to complete their action. Such as purchase, checkout process, and more. The abandonment rate term is used in e-commerce, SaaS, and digital marketing to measure drop-off points during the user journey.
Why Does It Abandon Rate Matter
The abandonment rate indicates friction in the user experience, such as complex navigation, thin content, slow load times, or unclear calls to action (CTAs). Optimizing for lower abandonment rates can improve conversions and overall customer satisfaction. The higher the abandonment rate there is something that is making customers not take any action on the website.
